Background
Ai16z is a decentralized community dedicated to pushing the boundaries of the open source AI Agent ecosystem.
Ai16z is currently composed of:
- The ai16z DAO: a DAO fund, native token ($ai16z), community of builders
- The Eliza Foundation to foster growth of the Eliza Framework
- Eliza: The Open Source Agent Framework (Under the elizaOS GitHub Organization)
- A thriving developer ecosystem building on Eliza across every major L1, L2 and various different platforms.
The Vision
The end-goal is decentralized, open-source AGI.
In order to get there we must build not only the most accessible, but the best tooling, platforms & services to support builders.
The Challenge
Ai16zβs agent framework ELIZA has been the dominant & favored developers choice for building agents not just within the crypto community but among all developers working in tech today.
The Eliza framework has been hailed as an industry innovation by top institutions and academics including Stanford Universityβs Future of Digital Currency Initiative (FDCI) which announced the launch of its first ever web3 x AI research lab with Eliza Labs. Stanford professors Dan Boneh and David MaziΓ¨res noted:
"By combining FDCI's established infrastructure with Eliza Labs' expertise in multi-agent systems, we're positioning ourselves at the forefront of this transformative technology.β
FAQβ
-
What is the main challenge facing the $ai16z token? Despite the Eliza agent framework thriving in adoption and innovation, the $ai16z token lacks strong value accrual mechanisms. This leads to misaligned incentives and needs to change to sustain ai16z's momentum.
-
What proposals are currently being considered to improve $ai16z tokenomics?
- Launching an official ai16z launchpad for Eliza-based agent projects. This would implement "flywheel" tokenomics, driving value to $ai16z through launch fees, token requirements for allocations, and liquidity pools.
- Community "curation" of projects by ai16z partners before launching on the launchpad. This ensures project quality and alignment with the ai16z brand.
- Making $ai16z the base currency for agent-to-agent transactions and an "App Store" for agent services. This positions ai16z as an L1 blockchain for AI.
- Incentivizing Eliza developers with ecosystem funds, revenue shares, and third-party launchpad support.
- Diversifying the DAO treasury while avoiding agent token sales, selectively providing liquidity, and enabling staking.
- Token buyback and burns, and hardcoding agent creation fees (these have received mixed opinions).
- Why is an official launchpad considered the leading proposal?
An official launchpad provides a clear mechanism for driving value to the $ai16z token. It can leverage ai16z's brand and community to attract high-quality projects, generating revenue and demand for the token.
- What are the long-term aspirations for ai16z?
The long-term goal is to position ai16z as an L1 blockchain for AI, metaphorically speaking. This involves making $ai16z the base currency for agent interactions and building an ecosystem of tools and services around the Eliza framework.
- What are the community's concerns regarding $ai16z tokenomics?
The community is concerned about the lack of concrete tokenomics initiatives and the token's price not reflecting Eliza's growth. They are eager to see action taken to drive sustainable value to $ai16z.
- How is the team addressing these concerns?
The team is actively discussing various tokenomics models, with a strong focus on creating an official launchpad and feedback loops for those contributing to the project.
